Blogging is funny. I like to think that I’m sitting at a very professional desk, with a chic bouquet of flowers next to me and a candle burning. HA! In reality, I’m sitting on the couch in a cat t shirt and sweatpants while drinking my coffee.
Now that you have that glorious picture in your head, let’s talk shoes!
P.S. Refer to my last post here if you want to know how to shop my Instagram and Facebook posts! It’s totally worth it and makes shopping your favorite bloggers looks SO easy!
Spring is here! Ahhhhhhh! I am so excited to pack away my sweaters and shop for some sundresses and skirts! (Pssssst. if you need a tan like I do, shop my favorite tan here + read my post on how to use it here.)
Who says you only have to wear boots during Fall and Winter!? Whoever said that was sadly mistaken. I love to wear booties almost as much as I love wearing sneakers. And that’s because they are so versatile. A bootie is a great way to add flair to a summer dress or even a simple white tee look.
I’ve rounded up my fav (and I mean FAV) booties for you and what I love to wear with them!
This first trend is my new favorite way to wear booties, especially if you always wear black or neutral colors like I do. A bold bootie is the best way to add a pop of color and really bring your outfits to life. I was so skeptical about a colored shoe (because I am obviously obsessed with neutrals, which we’ll get to) that I went for an on sale pair just to test the waters. I found a $9 pair (yes, NINE) from Forever 21 that were the most perfect shade on orange. Needless to say, and as you’ve probably seen on social media, I wear them A LOT.
My favorite way to style these bold babies is with an amazing pair of denim and a white/black tee. This really lets the color stand out. You could also pair them with a sundress that features a pop of color. Don’t be afraid to mix colors and wear whatever you like with them because that’s what makes your style unique!
This one is a given, and just as fashionable as a colored bootie. Neutral booties are really taking over this season, partly because their easily paired with anything! I always say that a girl should have a staple white, nude, grey, brown, and black bootie in her closet. Yes, that may sound like a lot, but it’s not. Last fall, on Day 1 of NYFW for Spring ’18. white booties were EVERYWHERE. Nude pointed toe boots look amazing with dresses OR denim, and so do grey booties. And black booties go with everything, creating an extra edgy look at the same time. If you don’t have one of each of these staples, you need to! It will make putting together looks way easier!
Never seen these before? Transparent booties are really making a wave tis season. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian West love this style bootie. A lot of stars love them because they give the illusion of a longer leg, which they do! Stores like TopShop and NastyGal have these all over their websites. I personally love the trend, although I know it’s not for everyone. But hey, give it a try! You never know until you do, and it might just be your new favorite. I’ll definitely be styling them with some boyfriend denim and a nude tank for some KKW vibes. Pssst. Yes, I did go buy a pair and you will be seeing them very very soon!
Last, but oh so not least. These metallic booties were HUGE on the runway last NYFW for SS18. They were featured in shows like Self-Portrait, Coach 1941, and Christian Siriano. Let’s face it, anything shiny is worth having in your closet. Although I haven’t found a pair of these shiny shoes that I love yet, I am still on the lookout and can’t wait to wear them with some denim shorts and a long-line blazer. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!
You know what time it is… It’s time to shop!
