That’s probably because I have been feeling like shit. But hey, pregnancy is a beautiful thing. A long, tough, tiring, beautiful thing.
But now that I am in my third trimester, it’s time to finally prepare for this baby. Before I got pregnant, I was always like, “I’m gonna have the nursery set up right away.” and “I’m going to have everything ready way before he is born.” and some other unrealistic things. And if you can do all that PROPS TO YOU. But this mumma-to-be has a full time job and is dealing with some major heartburn. So yeah, I haven’t had time to do any of this baby prep.
And now, I kind-of have no choice but to start now. And I am SO excited!
Don’t get me wrong, I have bought a good amount of things for our little baby boy and I have a lot of freebies (thanks to Amazon, Target, and BabyList registries and their free goodie bags…) and a lot of clothes (like too many but whatevs) for him.
But one of my biggest things I have been wanting to do is start his little nursery. I can’t even tell you how many times I have walked up and down the aisles at Target and Buy Buy Baby looking at giant giraffe stuffed animals (why? why? why?) and cribs and dressers and everything that has been flooding my mind that I need to buy for this little bub. I basically have it all picked out and I am just waiting until my baby shower is done with so that I can press the “order” button and just watch it all arrive at my house. Totally not looking forward to putting together IKEA furniture at 30+ weeks pregnant, but good thing I have a trusty husband to help. Let’s be real, I’m just going to watch.
I want the nursery to be a super serene place that I can hangout with my little guy. Even though I know he will shit all over the furniture I buy and probably spend most of the time in there crying, I want it to be cute, ya know?
I have a couple different vibes that I have been liking lately but most importantly I want it to be:
Totally gender neutral – for the next 10+ babies I want to have (lol)
Bright and airy
I’m obsessed with safari animals right now, so I want that to be incorporated
And overall, just a cute little room that I can have be a quiet, serene place to rock my little guy or read to him and just spend time with him in.
Also, if I hear one more, “It’s never going to look as cute as you want it.”, “There’s going to be stuff everywhere once you have your baby,” and “You won’t even use the nursery.” from anyone, I will scream. Leave. Me. Be. and just let me enjoy this moment, chyeah?
Alright, let’s get into it. Behold, my baby nursery inspo!
OK so that’s the feel I’m going for! Whether it will turn out this way. — IDK, but I totally hope so! I knew I wanted a white crib and dresser since the room will be painted white and I wanted to incorporate a lot of different textures and patterns, and some pops of green! My biggest thing was to keep everything gender neutral, since if we ever had a girl, I could easily switch out a green pillow for a blush one and so on. I honestly can’t wait to start putting the whole room together and begin playing with all of these pieces.
Shop my inspo pieces below and let me know in the comments your favorite nursery MUST HAVES! I’ll also be doing a nursery reveal once it’s all done to show you how it turned out!
