Honestly, the only thing that can make this day better is a lot of coffee and some INTERIOR DECOR INSPO. Yes, I went there.
So, I decided to start a new series called Mood Board Monday.
It’s been a while since I’ve done an ‘interior inspo’ post but funny enough, I’ve been busy decorating my own home. Seriously, every weekend and shopping trip has been spent focusing on decorating our home and yet, I haven’t written a post about ANY OF IT.
Mood boards are an amazing way to gain inspiration for a space you’re designing. You can pull all of your favorite Pinterest pictures, furniture pieces, and color stories into one visual. This makes it easy to stay consistent when decorating. You can always refer back to your mood board when shopping to make sure what you’re buying will fit in with the style you are trying to achieve.
So, what’s my thinking? I usually start off with a picture that really sets the vibe for what I want my space to look like. This week, it was the picture below!
This one caught my eye because of how bright and airy it felt. (Hey, I did that thing. The thing where a character says the title of the movie in the actual movie.)
Anyways… Something about this room in particular caught my eye. I don’t even need to see the rest of the house to know exactly what vibe is set throughout. By using this photo and pulling from some other pieces of inspiration, I can create a mood board. Hence the one I made below!
I chose to keep a neutral theme throughout. I love the look of neutrals with a pop of color and plants are the best way to add color. Rugs are great for that too, so I included the dusty pink rug (shop below) to help bring in some color but still keep the bright feel.
BOOM BAM! There you have it. Super simple and something you can reference back numerous times to make sure you keep the same ‘theme’ throughout your whole decorating process. I’ve put a couple pieces below that you can shop.
Alright, what do we think? Love the new idea? I hope so because these boards are so much fun to create! If you have created one before, put your link in the comments so I can check it out!
