If you follow me on social media (which you should) then you would know that this past week, my phone and computer both broke. Yeah, my worst nightmare. Especially as a blogger.
Not only did I have events to attend, but I also had no way to, ya know, blog.
I got married on Friday the 13th, so usually it’s not a dreaded day for me. But this time, it was hell. Thankfully, it’s all figured out and I’m back to my regularly schedule program, ha!
Sometimes life goes great and sometimes shit hits the fan. This time shit hit the fan.
Speaking of life…
Ever wonder what the heck to get the woman who gave you life?
I don’t know about you, but finding gifts for my mom is almost impossible.
Not because I don’t know what to get her. I just can’t justify buying her a candle when she deserves a whole island, ya know?
Sadly, islands are expensive. But so was raising me. My mom raised three girls and I’m not sure how she did it. She not only did an amazing job, but she taught us all how to be amazing young women, growing up and becoming mothers ourselves one day.
So yeah, she deserves a lot. It’s crazy to think that the last 30 years of her life have been dedicated to raising one daughter, after another, after another. And I’m pretty sure I was the most difficult and expensive. Which means my gift has to be pretty awesome.
In conclusion, yes it’s tough to shop for your mum when you know she deserves the world, but there’s a couple things you can do to make her feel special that are a little more practical and a little less expensive.
P.S. Mom, stop reading! Your gift is probably included in here! (Yes, my mom is my biggest fan and reads all my posts, likes all my pictures, etc.)
I don’t know about you, but my mom loves wine. Most moms do because they have put up with a lot of shit, so they need a drink, ya know?
Make the mom in your life her own personal wine bottle.
Does she have a wine she absolutely loves?
Buy her one (or a couple) bottle(s) of her favorite wine. Then, download the Canva app by clicking here. Use the app to create a personalized label for your bottle! Canva is a really easy app to use and you can print the labels at home or send them to any local Walgreens or CVS to be printed. You could write something funny or you could put something sweet. You can even put a picture on the bottle. Either way, it’s sure to put a smile on her face. And fill up her glass! Lol!
Not into wine?
Get a sketch made of your favorite picture together!
My sister introduced me to this amazing app, called ChicSketch. You can download it here!
Basically, you send in a photo (4 people or less) and for just over $10, you’ll get an amazing (and super chic!) sketch of your photo.
Not only is this a budget friendly option, but it’s so unique. Have the app sketch your favorite photo of you and your mom, and then place it in a really cute frame! Warning… Your mom will LOVE it.
Of course, you’ll need the perfect card. I used Minted for my wedding invites, so I pretty much FREAKED when I saw their line of greeting cards at my local Target store!
Minted is a website that offers invites, prints, and greeting cards + soo much more! Their cards are amazing and like I said, there is a whole wall of them at my local Target so you’ll find a card for every occasion. Their Mothers Day line is the perfect mix of florals and foils and it’s going to compliment your gift perfectly!
Ahhhh, don’t forget the flowers! Every mum deserves a bouquet of flowers on her special day! Some of my favorites? Baby’s Breath, Tiger Lilies, Carnations, or make your own bouquet by mixing together a few different types of colors and adding in some eucalyptus. Moms love anything handmade so any extra touch you put on it, she will love it!
Feel more equipped now for the upcoming holiday? Good!
I hope you enjoyed some unique (and budget friendly) gifts for the mom in your life! Lets be honest, moms are so amazing that you know whatever you get her, she will be happy and thankful.
Ugh, we don’t deserve moms.
Sooo, have an amazing week everyone! Talk to you soon! Xx
