Have you started your shopping yet? Nah, me neither. (Cue more panic)
But, let’s not fret.
Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when it comes to shopping, especially when you have so many different people in your lives with completely different interests. This series will be running until Christmas, and it will (hopefully) serve as a guide to help you shop for those certain people that you feel like already have literally EVERYTHING.
Something we know everyone loves? Home decor.
We all have that friend who is always at Target, Home Goods, and World Market. They’re always looking at new things for their home and they can never have enough pieces for their humble abode. This guide has the perfect pieces for your decor-savy friend, and they will be stoked to unwrap any of these gifts. P.S. I also fall into this category, soo…..
Anyways. Let’s do this.
Every girl loves pillows. I’m not sure why, but I could buy a million pillows and still never have enough. I’ve been gifted a pillow before and it was one of the bests gifts I’ve received. Your homey friend will definitely be grateful for this gift, especially if it’s nice quality. Here’s two I found, both from CB2. Try to stick with something more neutral that will go in any room, that way they are sure to use it. This 20″ Asterix Geometric Pillow is a great choice, and so is this 23″ Bias Pillow that will add a nice texture to any couch or bed. Honesty, you’ll probably want to keep this gift for yourself.
Staying near the same topic, blankets are another thing you’re home decor junkie of a friend probably can’t get enough of. Again, I would probably stick with a more neutral color, but if your friend loves color, don’t be afraid to get a fun bright blanket for her space. This Faux Fur Throw from Target is a great affordable option, with a beautiful luxurious look. You could even put some little slippers with this gift, like these, just to add a little extra cozy.
I have one of these aromatherapy diffusers, but mine is not as beautiful as this one. These are an amazing way to diffuse essential oils in your home, and your friend will appreciate the design and warm lighting of this one so that it blends nicely into her other decor. If you want to add a little more, gift them this essential oil set as well so they can get started using this right away.
Letterboards are becoming increasingly popular all over social media. They are a great way to write messages or quotes in your home, and still serve as wall art. You’re friend will love this one from Joann’s. It’s the best quality and most affordable one I could find, and if you go to the Joann’s website, there is always a coupon to use online or in store. They also come with letters, but you can purchase additional ones, along with images and phrases as well.
Here’s another gift that you’re home lover will be excited to open! Where is she going to put all of her extra blankets in pillows? Probably in this basket from CB2. Us home decor junkies love baskets because it helps us conceal items and still adds a nice touch to a space. And like pillows and blankets, we can never have enough of them. You could even add a couple goodies into the basket, such as that blanket or pillow from earlier.
I’m sure your friend loves a good picture frame. Gold is a great touch to any space, and these unique prism style frames are a great way to ensure your friend doesn’t already have one like it. This Pressed Glass Photo Frame is from Target’s Magnolia Hearth + Hand line, which is AMAZING. And this one is from Bed Bath and Beyond. Want to make it even more special? Add a photo of you and your friend or a photo of their pet into the frame. They will love the gift itself, but adding that extra touch will set it apart even more.
Your giftee will love this next gift. Wall prints and hangings are probably one of your friend’s favorite things. The first is this The Night Sky print. These prints are customizable, so if there is a date that you know is important to your friend, you can send that into this website, and they will print the night sky of that date for you. For example, if your friend got married on 1.1.11, the website will send you the print containing the exact night sky on 1.1.11 and you can add a quote in too. How awesome is that!? Think you friend might not be into that? Get her a beautiful macrame wall hanging instead. This one is from Etsy, made by a shop called Hazel Candle Company.
Next up is a coffee table book. If you’re going to go for this gift, I would look up coffee table books in a topic that interests the person you’re shopping for. This one is a beautiful book for home decor lovers, focusing on furniture and textiles. But if your friend is more into fashion, you could get them this Chanel one. If they’re into travel, you could get them this Paris book.
And last, but not least, candles. Everyone LOVES a good candle. Not only is this a sure fire gift that they’ll love, but there are so many different candles out there with so many different designs and scents. Anthropologie has some of my favorite candles, and their jars are gorgeously designed. This Capri Blue Iridescent Jar Candle is one of their top rated candles.
Time to get that Christmas shopping started! I hope this guide was helpful to you in choosing something for your home loving friend. Next up, I will be doing a gift guide for the man in your life. So stay tuned and Happy Holidays!
