I can’t even begin to describe to you how long I have dreamed of my wedding. Just like any other girl, I began wondering when I was young. Who would I marry? What would my dress be like? What will my ring be like? What will my life be like?
So when I met my husband years ago, I had no idea that I was looking at the man who I’d dreamed about, and would spend the rest of my life with.
Buy hey, that’s life. You never know what’s gonna happen. And I was ready to let life take control and go with the flow. That was until I started planning my wedding,
You see, hubs and I actually got married before our wedding. Weird huh? Well if you’ve ever seen 90 Day Fiancé on TLC, you’ll understand. I’ll save that story for another time.
Planning my wedding was by far the most stressful, exciting, and large-scale planning I have ever been a part of. I’m not sure how my bridesmaids and parents put up with me, but they did and I love them for it. But in the long run, I didn’t need to stress. Everyone says your wedding day will work out no matter what and be the best day of your life. And it did.
Yeah, they played the wrong song when I walked down the aisle. And sure, our venue had no A/C. And yeah, maybe my fake tan completely failed me the night before. Not to mention, my ring bearer fell asleep 10 minutes before the ceremony started.
But in the end, none of that mattered. NONE of it.
I had the most beautiful and amazing wedding day. After all I was already married, so this part was a piece of cake right? It was truly the most magical day filled with love and the most important people in my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Our venue was my favorite part. I really wanted something unique and my sister’s friend actually suggested I check out The Glass Factory.
I fell in LOVE.
This place is a dream. When I first saw this venue, it had barely anything done to it at all. But working with it’s owner, Kara, she was able to see my vision and I knew this was the place. Plus it came with beer… and wine. SCORE.
So we transformed an open warehouse to my dream venue. No wedding planner. No designer. Just a lot of planning and trips to Hobby Lobby.
The easiest part of planning my wedding? My dress.
Yup, you read that right. The second dress I tried on was the one. And it was on sale. I mean, come on!?
Our photographer was INCREDIBLE. If there’s one thing you really want to spend your money on when planning your wedding, make it your photographer. Ours, Cole Locurto , was out of this world. He’s such a cool guy to work with and was ‘barely there’ all day/night. I wanted to make sure I could fully enjoy my day without feeling too posed, and still have some amazing photos to show. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to be behind the lens on our special day.
If you’re planning your wedding & looking for inspiration, just remember that your day isn’t going to go perfect, but looking back, I promise it will be the best day of your life.
